Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard has successfully signed an extension to his long-term Liverpool contract, a fantastic deal that will keep the Reds’ legendary captain at Anfield until the end of his career.
The Liverpool Number-8 finalised his contract’s details merely 24 hours after the team’s crucial win over Roberto Mancini’s citizens in the Carling Cup, in which Gerrard’s winning goal in the first half was all but enough to separate the two teams until the second leg kickoff on 26th January. The following encounter between Liverpool and Manchester City in the Carling Cup will be scheduled to kickoff at Anfield.
The 31-year-old, who has made an unbelievable 566 appearances for the club (scoring 144 goals), was praised by Kop manager Kenny Dalglish as “a fantastic servant to the football club”. Besides, Gerrard has also featured in a total of 89 times for his national team, scoring 19 goals.
