The design of the Logitech G CLOUD is reminiscent of the Nintendo Switch Lite, especially when considering its dimensions, buttons, and screen border. That, however, is where the similarities seem to end. The Logitech G CLOUD can be considered part of the Xbox family, as it is optimized for Xbox Cloud Gaming and will have access to the entire cloud library from the moment players turn on the device.

The system isn’t only for Xbox gaming, though. The G CLOUD will also include NVIDIA GeForce NOW, adding even more titles for players to enjoy. The device isn’t cheap, though. It will start at $349.99, and it is currently available on sale at $299.99. The G CLOUD has a seven inch, 1080p screen and will support twelve hours of play on a charge. These features should be great for gamers who want a premium Xbox experience while on-the-go.
The G CLOUD is a collaboration between Logitech and Tencent Games, an overseas company that has been developing games and gaming hardware for years. The resulting system has clearly been built with players in mind. Xbox has stated that the G CLOUD, in addition to cloud gaming, will support Xbox Remote Play. This means that gamers can stream content from their consoles directly to the device, allowing them to play any title available on Xbox.
The G CLOUD will also let gamers play Fortnite online without a subscription to Xbox Live. Indeed, the device seems to be an easy foray into the Xbox ecosystem. Players who don’t want to spend the money on a console could possibly get everything they need from the G CLOUD and Game Pass Ultimate. But the price of the system is something to think about. For fans who’ve already spent hundreds of dollars on a new console, the $300 handheld might not be worth the purchase. While it’s great to see Xbox working to make Cloud Gaming more viable, this solution will likely be useful only for a select group of players.
The Logitech G CLOUD will launch on October 17 and is available for preorder now.
