Legends of Rupganj started the relegation league with a victory over Old DOHS Sports Club. Batting first in a rain-hit clash, Old DOHS Sports Club posted 117/6 in 18 overs. Legends of Rupganj took 17.1 overs to successfully chase down the total. Meanwhile, Partex Sporting Club have played 12 matches so far in the tournament and are surprisingly winless. They are reeling at the bottom spot in the relegation league and are in danger of getting demoted to the second division....

Frodo came to live with his relative Bilbo after the unfortunate passing of his parents, Drogo Baggins and Primula Brandybuck-Baggins. The Senegal international was handed a red card in the 37th minute for delivering a high boot to the head of Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson when the sides met Saturday, which forced the keeper out of the game. City, who led 1-0 when Mane was sent off, went on to win 5-0. Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has insisted that his side are still in the Premier League title race, just days after he said it was all but over,telling reporters that the title race is “certainly not over.” Manchester City need just a point from their final game, against West Ham, to win the title (barring an 13-goal swing in goal difference) , but Rodgers told reporters the race is not over, before insisting that his side will learn from this season....

Barca have identified Coutinho as a replacement for Neymar, who completed a world-record €222million transfer to Paris Saint-Germain, though their pursuit has been unsuccessful so far. Premier League title hopefuls Liverpool are believed to have turned down a £119m offer for Coutinho, maintaining the Brazil international is not for sale. Coutinho is yet to feature this season as uncertainty over his future grows, however Klopp is unfazed with his focus elsewhere....

According to Champions League rules, a squad can have 25 ‘List A’ players, out of which eight must be ‘association-trained’. Out of these eight players, any four must satisfy the criteria of being ‘club-trained’ players. Having been unable to satisfy these conditions in the group stage, Liverpool only named a 24-man squad. One possible remedy for this situation is to include young midfielder Stefan Bajcetic as a ‘List B’ player....

The Croatia international has not been used by Liverpool this season and was left out of the squad entirely for the Premier League opener against Norwich City and the UEFA Super Cup clash versus Chelsea. Roma were considered the favourites to sign Lovren, only for a deal to reportedly collapse as the sides were unable to agree a fee. However, Lucci suggested there is still hope of a move going through before the Serie A transfer window closes....

The Brazil star’s imminent switch to Camp Nou was announced on Saturday, the 25-year-old agreeing a five-and-a-half-year deal and moving for a reported fee of £142million, his release clause set at €400m. Coutinho had long been a target for the LaLiga giants, who were rebuffed several times in their attempts to sign him back in July and August. Having handed in a transfer request, the attacker was always on borrowed time at Anfield and Klopp was disappointed to see him finally leave....

Messi scored a second-half brace to guide Barca to a 3-0 win over Liverpool in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final at Camp Nou on Wednesday. The Premier League side squandered numerous chances and seemed to have Messi under control before the star forward doubled his side’s lead and then curled in a wonderful 30-yard free-kick. Robertson felt Liverpool defended Messi well and he hopes they can keep the 31-year-old quiet in the second leg at Anfield on Tuesday....

In case you didn’t know The Reds are currently at the top of the Premier League table and are three points ahead of their closest rivals, Manchester City. They have not won the league title since 1990, but are in a strong position to end the drought this year. However, they have failed to register a win in their last two league games against Leicester City and West Ham United respectively, which has increased the pressure on the team....

In a low-key manner, the Anfield giants added Fabinho - after years of starring for Monaco on the domestic and continental scene - to their ranks, few days after their demoralising loss to Real Madrid in the Uefa Champions League final. The highly-rated defensive midfielder cum right-back joins a setup that had already been bolstered by Naby Keita’s addition, after the Guinea international agreed to a deal in last summer from RB Leipzig....

The Mundial is set to commence on November 20, with hosts Qatar taking on Ecuador. A total of 32 teams will begin their group-stage campaigns in the hope of lifting the coveted trophy. While every team will hope to win the FIFA World Cup, Argentina and Brazil have been widely touted as favorites going into the tournament. Liverpool full-back Andy Robertson shares the same opinion. He will not be taking part in the tournament after Scotland failed to qualify for the finals....
